What is MGF?

Unlike mature IGF-1, the MGF E-domain peptide does not act through the IGF-1 receptor. Research suggests it activates muscle satellite cells and delays their differentiation, expanding the pool of repair-competent cells. Its native half-life of only minutes makes the unmodified peptide suitable mainly for in-vitro and short-window animal work; the PEGylated form (PEG-MGF) is used where sustained exposure is needed.
