GHK: Research Profile, Dosages & Supplier Prices
GHK is a cosmetic / tissue research compound with a molecular weight of 340.4 g/mol and a research half-life of short; stabilized dramatically by copper binding (ghk-cu). GHK (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) is a natural human tripeptide first isolated from plasma, where its concentration declines from about 200 ng/ml at age 20 to 80 ng/ml by age 60. It has an exceptionally high affinity for copper(II) ions, and in biology it exists largely as the copper complex GHK-Cu - the form most research and cosmetic applications use.

What is GHK?
The copper-free peptide is studied in its own right for gene-modulatory effects: Broad Institute connectivity-map analyses found GHK modulates the expression of thousands of human genes, shifting patterns toward tissue repair and away from inflammatory and cancer-associated signatures. Research covers skin remodeling, wound healing, and anti-inflammatory models. GHK is also the reference point for understanding how much of GHK-Cu's activity is the peptide versus the copper delivery.
Mechanism of Action (Research Context)
High-affinity Cu2+ chelator (the histidine residue drives binding); as GHK-Cu it delivers copper into cells and modulates metalloenzymes. Gene-expression studies show broad modulation of repair, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory gene sets. Stimulates collagen, glycosaminoglycan and decorin synthesis in skin models.
